The construction of Kahawa Sukari Level 3 Hospital is underway, aimed at improving healthcare access in Kiambu. This follows earlier public concerns about inadequate medical services at facilities like Thika Level 5 Hospital, where residents have reported gaps in care delivery. Wamatangi’s administration has emphasized partnerships and data-driven approaches to enhance maternal and general healthcare, though some residents remain skeptical about the pace of improvements.
On infrastructure, the county is advancing a plan to elevate Thika town to city status, with the county assembly approving a proposal to develop Thika as an industrial smart city.
