A significant blow was dealt to drug trafficking in Kiambu County last evening, as authorities successfully seized approximately 2,000 rolls of bhang from a residence in Ruthiruini Village, Riabai. The operation, spearheaded by Riabai Chief Anthony Kariuki, has been met with widespread relief and praise from local residents, particularly women concerned about the impact of drug abuse on their children.
The substantial bhang catchment was discovered and confiscated from a woman’s house within the village. Chief Kariuki, who mobilized other chiefs from across Kiambu to assist in the successful operation, confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
She was arraigned in a Kiambu court this morning to face charges related to drug possession and trafficking. Local villagers, especially mothers, expressed their profound satisfaction with the outcome of the raid, highlighting how many of their children had fallen victim to drug addiction, a problem they hope this seizure will alleviate.
